Ministries

Prayer Partner Ministry

This ministry prays. The people who pray in this ministry are available to anyone in need of prayer. Training for prayer ministry is currently taking place each Sunday at 9:00 am.

Covenant Discipleship is a small-group ministry in the Wesleyan tradition. Groups meet weekly for one hour. The agenda is a covenant written by the group based upon the General Rule of Discipleship: To witness to Jesus Christ in the world and to follow his teachings through acts of compassion, justice, worship and devotion under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Through a process of mutual accountability and support for practicing the basics of Christian faith, members "watch over one another in love." Covenant Discipleship groups help to form people as dependable and mature disciples of Jesus Christ and leaders in discipleship. (GBOD)

Bible Study

Tuesday Morning, Wednesday Night Bible Study is designed for men and women desiring a better understanding of the Bible through leader facilitation and group discussion. Disciple Bible Study Invitation series is being used as we prepare for an introduction to long-term studies in the coming year.

Children/Youth Ministry

This group targets elementary age to high school through various activities geared specifically to their interest (i.e. comminutes service projects, lock-ins....). Children and Youth are specifically directed in faith-forming opportunities that will help them learn more about the love of God through Jesus Christ. Our primary focus is on building faith in Christ for children and youth.

Care and Nurture

This ministry is the liaison between the church and those members of the church who have experienced hardship, death in the family or unable to attend church due to limitations.

New Disciple Class

This is an 8 weeks course designed to walk you through the Bible to gain clarity of the word of God. Offered each quarter of the year.

Nursery Ministry

This ministry is responsible for the children during worship each Sunday. Children six months to 2 years old are welcomed to attend. Volunteers for all children ministries must attend Safe Sanctuary training annually.

Young Adults

This group of men and women range in age from 18 to 35 years of age and serve the church and community through various projects throughout the year.

Men

This group involves men ranging from 18 to up in various activities throughout the church and community.

Women

This group of women ranging in age from 18 up serves the church and community through various outreach, mission and service projects.

Worship and Arts

Music Ministry

This ministry includes the worship celebration support of the Praise Team and slected choirs. The Music Ministry rehearses on Thursday Night at 7:00 pm. Anyone with a passion for music and worship of God is invited to come and share. Contact: TaNunya Adamson or Paula Harris 832.644.5402.

The Ministry of Hospitality

These men and women share in in ministry as parking lot volunteers, greeters, hospitality table host, and ushers. They are welcoming everyone to worship and are charged with the responsibility to make everyone that comes though our church‘s door feel right at home. Media Ministry

Media support for audio/video, social networking, and website upkeep needs are shared by a wonderful group of people who love to hear and see God's message clearly proclaimed to those who share in worship and beyond First Love.
